Press Office Support

University_of_Winchester_logoThe press office support they needed

The University of Winchester needed a PR agency with a creative and media-savvy approach that would essentially be an extension to its communications team providing expertise and press office support.

The busy team needed help with its news output to increase coverage about the University and raise awareness of its achievements, mission and values.

What we did

Briscoe French worked with the University’s communications team, students and staff to write news releases for local, national and specialist media. Our press releases have helped unpick academic papers to find the best news angle, promoted international conferences, and reported national league table results.

We’ve written about the charity and entrepreneurial work being undertaken by students, and drafted the media announcement about the University’s extraordinary discovery of a bone linked to King Alfred the Great.

In addition, the University has called on us to provide press office support during major breaking news and provide media training.

The results

Between April and June 2014, the University of Winchester achieved coverage in more than 110 print and online publications with news releases written by us.

In January 2014, the University’s Search for King Alfred the Great announcement was covered by 216 print and online media outlets. The PR campaign surrounding the announcement has also won awards.
